Pinellas, originally a part of Hillsborough County, became a separate county in 1912. When first formed, its population was 13,193. The 2010 Census estimated Pinellas County's year-round population at 916,542. When compared with Florida’s 67 other counties, this estimate shows Pinellas County to be the most densely populated county in the state. Pinellas’ location provides the area with an ideal year-round climate. Cold winds are tempered in winter and warm breezes are cool in summer as they blow over the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay.

Hillsborough County is a county located in the west central area of Florida. In 2010 the population was 1,229,226, making it the fourth-most populated county in Florida and the most populous county outside the Miami metropolitan area. Hillsborough became its own county on January 25th, 1834, which at that time it became Florida's 19th county. Hillsborough County is comprised of four jurisdictions including three of which are incorporated including Tampa, Plant City and Temple Terrace. Of the three, Tampa is the largest in both size and population followed by Plant City and then Temple Terrace.
HERNANDO COUNTY

Hernando County was established in 1843 and named in honor of Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto. Hernando County is the geographic center of the state and is located on the central-west coast of Florida. The City of Brooksville is the county seat and is rich in history and traditions. Citrus County was established in 1887 and is made up of 15 different cities. The county was named in honor of the citrus fruit. Citrus County was originally apart of Hernando County. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 141,236. It’s largest community is Homosassa Springs. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 773 square miles (2,000 km²), of which 582 square miles (1,510 km²) is land and 192 square miles (500km²) (24.8%) is water.
